The most prominent personalities of our city’s cultural life are the composer Imre Kálmán and the sculptor Imre Varga. Paying tribute to The "King of Operettas", many events and programs enrich the city's cultural life. Our famous sculptor has many enchanting works in our town’s different points.
The determinants of Siófok’s cultural life are the varied events, festivals, which is organized by the city itself and the various associations for years and decades.

This is a serial cultural program which has regional importance and includes many different events. Three-week-long cultural festival with art exhibition, literary performance, concerts, theatrical performances and programs for children.

Eastern days

Blissful days can spend here who visits our Easter Festival in Siófok. In the beginning of spring can enjoy a beautyful weekend, beside the attendance of the Easter traditions, with a lot of entertaining programs.

Siókanál (Canal) festival

This festival is a cultural debut possibility for the towns in the Balaton region, and a playful rowing-cooking race for the „Middle of the Balaton Region” award for one year.

WINK Marathon

The runner festival in May belongs to the city’s vibrant life for a long time. The curiosity of the race is that disabled and non disabled athletes run together on the next distances: marathon (42,195km), half marathon (21,97km), marathon relay (42,195km), sprint (5km), sprint relay (5km).

We keep the season opener of Lake Balaton on Siófok at the time of Pentecost in all years since the front of the 90's. The aim of the program to call the population's, and the national media's attention onto the beginning of the travel season with colourful programs.

Summer Nights in Siófok

This event is important in the whole country. This is a serial cultural and theatrical program. Two-month-long open-air cultural and theatrical series with theatrical, operetta, musical and dance performances and music concerts.

New Orleans Jazz Festival

This festival is important in the whole country. This is a serial, traditional, cultural and musical event. It is a review of hungarian traditional jazz. The biggest dixieland meeting in Hungary. At this event perform many renowned hungarian and foreign bands.

Siófolk Festival

The festival is important in the county. This is a cultural event which includes many programs. A three-day-long folk, music, dance and cultural festival based on hungarinan traditions. Folk, rock and world music concerts, folk dance performances, handicraft fair and programs for children.

Stefánia Festival

This is a new tourism and cultural event which is important in the whole country and includes different cultural and also gastronomic programs. The event happens in different places and takes 4 days long. This is a reminiscent, roleplay festival with the feeling of the turn of the century, the monarchy and the „happy peaceful times”.

Feast of the bread and wine

The biggest summer festival in Siófok, which is organized in the beautyful Rosegarden, next to the coast of Balaton. Famous wine-cellars of our historical wine regions present their best wines, local bakeries offer their tasty products. Through five days, coloured programs replace each other on the stage.

International Egg Festival

The biggest traditional egg festival in Hungary.

Imre Kalman memorial days
This festival will be hosted by the cultural centre to pay tribute to the musician, Imre Kalman. At the birthplace of the world-famous composer, street music, operettas, a gala programme and a theatre performance are awaiting visitors. The shore of Lake Balaton will be worth a visit for fans of the genre because for the weekend Siófok will become the capital of the operetta.

Márton’s day Palinka festival

Brings a little warmth into the grey November days, the presentation of the hungarian's favourite drink, the palinka, and the traditional goose foods. In the covered tent of events, amusing programs replaces each other, and visitors can walk in the cavalcade of the fair on the Main square.

Christmas fair
